I went to the latest anime convention with and all I brought back was a cold. No surpirse though, I think it's just my monthly allergies.

We came dressed up as Yukari and Chen from Touhou, I was a (badly dressed) Chen, the nekomata, or cat youkai. Before I start it off, cosplaying is really not my thing, but in someway, it's quite enjoyable because you get to meet other people who may have the same intrests as you, and who says dressing up is only limited to Halloween? There were all kind of characters around, hell there were even Disney princess (nope, they weren't grade-schoolers either!) Spongebob , Team Fortess 2 (a game I wanna try out) cosplayers, and even....a human Kirby..*shudder*. I also gotta kick out of all the Kingdom Hearts, Mother/Earthbound, Vocaloid, Ghibli movie and Zelda cosplayers. Some people were very creative. Me and my friend even got to take pictures with a Touhou group. I was surprised that people actually cosplayed the series because it is still a bit obscure here in the States, and yes, I am aware that it's a doujin (indie) series.

Aside from cosplay, there were many booths, with either cheap or expensive goodies. There was a tiny Touhou booth with really expensive fanmade items, I could only afford a small Cirno keychain. ><

There was also a section for artists who wanted to sell handmade goods, and picture commissions. Excuse me because I don't really know what a "commission" means, but I do see the term used here in dA. They were fairly priced and the artists were very kind. I got a small Miku keychain, and two Mother/Earthbound portaits. I think the person who made my Miku keychain actually goes to dA, I gotta watch them! xD

To make this short, I had a lot of fun at the convention, and I want to go agian next year. I might not cosplay though (sorry Yukari!) because I am a n00b when it comes to sewing fabric, and I'm scared to get pictures take of me...a word of advice too. If you are new to the cosplaying world like I am, be prepared to have pictures taken of you, as well as you taking pictures of other cosplayers.
